Boundaries
August 21, 2022boundaries are the walls of our cups
boundaries are the walls of our cups
living into their dreams
if I take care of me now, tomorrow will care for itself
escape is not witness
a presence of overlapping realities
we respond to surprises with grace
life does not need to be this hard
basking in the sun and feeling a gentle breeze
a team pays attention with many eyes
a healthy path forward begins with acceptance of this truth
whose moves will I dance forward?
get your soul dirty
flicker and sway as they dance in play
unable to consider others’ needs or perspectives
enable the body to connect with truth and creativity
being led by one without active empathy for you feels like riding a mechanical bull
an inspiration for those we encounter
slide down to a lovely swamp
those children stand in front of us, sometimes in the form of elderly adults
living in a world we can share
the message is that survival belongs only to the greedy
respond to your suffering as I do to my own
a video of Sam Dennison at SF City Hall
opening oneself to what can be, without knowing what that may be
a letter to friends and family
paths are lined by the people I have loved
beginning a new way of understanding my journey
how to decide
never imagining she would become a forest unto herself
the three men steadied themselves against each other and gave a firm but calm tug
my chitin is not thick enough to withstand the pressures of this world
gratitude for those who have left
I choose to build my home with abundance
healthy hives that pollinate countless fields
it’s messy but it’s beautiful and it’s so welcoming
